How Pit Pros Automotive Began
About Us: The Pit Pros Automotive Story
More than 40 years ago, Dariush “DK” Khairkhah sat across the street, counting cars to see if a small auto shop could succeed. DK arrived in America in 1981 with just $3 in his pocket and a dream of running his own business. From sharing a Happy Meal with his brother-in-law to eventually owning 64 taxis at Yellow Cab and Royal Liquor in Dallas, DK learned firsthand what it takes to succeed.
Owning so many taxis taught him about car repair and preventive maintenance — and that passion led to the founding of Pit Pros #1.
A Family-Owned Tradition, Two Generations Strong
Today, Pit Pros Automotive is proud to be in its second generation of family ownership. What makes our About Us story special is the way we combine old-school values with modern technology:
Classic signs and photos from our early years still line the shop walls.
State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment tracks your car’s needs.
Digital tools (text, email, FaceTime) keep customers updated in real time.
This balance of tradition and innovation ensures that drivers never have to second-guess their service.

Our Values - Honesty is the Best Policy
At Pit Pros Automotive, honesty isn’t a slogan — it’s our way of life. We show customers exactly what’s wrong with their vehicle and explain the best solutions in simple terms. Whether it’s through photos, videos, or live calls, our repair process stays transparent and stress-free.
DK built Pit Pros around a principle he’s always believed in: “Honesty is the best policy.” That’s why our About Us page isn’t just history — it’s a reflection of how we continue to serve Dallas drivers today.

Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance on your factory schedule keeps small problems from turning into big bills. At 30k, 60k and 90k miles we handle fluids, filters, belts, hoses and battery testing, using BG® products that protect your engine for the long haul.
Brake Repair
Squealing, grinding or a soft brake pedal? Our brake repair starts with measuring what’s left on your pads and rotors and sending you photos. You get a written estimate first, and we replace only what’s worn: pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluid. Same-day or next-day service whenever possible.
Engine Diagnostics
Check-engine light on? Our engine diagnostics pair dealer-level scan tools with technicians who know what the codes don’t tell you. We find the real cause, show you what we found with photos or video, and give you a written estimate before any repair begins.
Tire Repair
Picked up a nail, losing air or feeling a shake at highway speed? Our tire repair is done the right way: proper patches and plugs, balancing and rotation, and an honest call on whether a tire can be saved or needs to be replaced.
Oil Change
Most oil changes at Pit Pros are done in under 30 minutes. We use the right oil for your engine, install a new filter, top off your fluids and reset the service light, then tell you anything we noticed under the hood. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Saturday at 2802 Inwood Rd.
State Inspection
Dallas County still requires a yearly emissions test before you renew your registration, even though Texas ended safety inspections for personal vehicles in 2025. We run state inspection emissions tests every day we’re open, and if your car fails, we fix it on site and retest.
